Role Player Guidelines for FoP

Role Playing in World of Warcraft is much easier than many people believe. It isn’t about speaking in Old English or coming up with ridiculously long RP (role playing) stories which you tell to EVERYONE you meet in game. I mean, come on, who in RL tells you their life story when you meet them?! If you want to find out about a person in real life, you have to spend many hours with them piecing their life together, and so it should be on WoW.

I've put together a small list of things to better help you RP your <Follower of Puddlefang>

And remember, Puddlefang is an ancient spirit creature, and your lord, but not your god. He is known to Elune and seen as a threat to the “old gods.”

  • First and foremost you MUST set up a macro for the guilds battle cry: “For the Glory of Puddlefang!”
  • Use the guilds battle cry (“For the Glory of Puddlefang!”) before starting a really hard game boss, or just randomly around cities to show your devotion to the great one. (If you down a boss with little problem you can call /y Hail Puddlefang! )
  • If you see someone else call 'For the Glory of Puddlefang' hit your macro.
  • Never mention anything from real life in say, yell, general, or any of the various role playing channels without commenting it out using [[ ]] or something similar.
  • if you wish to emote something to another player without using the /me function or in a channel where people cant see /me such as guild chat you can put a * * around what your saying, eg *dances*
  • Come up with a short story about how you met Puddlefang. If you can use actual events do it, but if not make it as grand as you like (within reason - no I’m sorry, but you and Puddlefang NEVER downed Illidan on your own...although I'm sure Puddlefang could do it in his true form!)
  • Always bow or kneel before Puddlefang when you see him, you don't have to remain on your knee BUT he is your Lord and you must show him respect - or come up with a good RP reason for why you can't kneel!

Rules

Breaking the guild rules is punishable by demotion of guild rank or removal from the guild altogether.

  • There is to be no politicking in the guild. The guild leaders run the guild for the good of all members. Any problems or suggestions members have must be taken up with a guild leader.
  • Do NOT tell people how to play their class (unless they ask you for help or you are a raid leader and there is stuff they NEED to know to allow the raid to progress) - Just because you feel you know everything doesn't for a second mean you do. So let people play the game how they want and enjoy themselves without feeling belittled by you.
  • Personal arguments between members are to be had privately, and never in guild chat. If a guild officer is required to help solve a problem, they are to be sent a tell explaining the problem, and will decide how best to proceed.
  • Don't be a dickhead, as being a dickhead reflects badly on the guild!
  • Swear/curse words and improper language is to be kept to a minimum and never used in guild chat. (raids are a differenet story)
  • Be sure to act in a fashion in world that is becoming of a role player.
  • Always respect and worship Lord Puddlefang.
  • Respect role playing at all times or you're out.
